Dominican birth certificate question for k1 visa

My fiance and I are currently going through k1 visa process.  In one of the other threads I saw someone mention that they needed to have the birth certificate translated to English.  Any idea of where this can be done in Santo Domingo? Also my fiance is telling me that when you get copies of your birth certificate,  there is an expiration date. Anyone ever heard of this?

Never heard of a birth certificate having a expiration date.

As for the translation, there are many good online services (use Google) that can get your stuff translated. It usually isn't too expensive and easier than having to travel somewhere to get it done. You can scan it in and email it to them, and they can email the translation back to you with the certified translation wording on it, or stamped on it.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

In some countries, a birth certificate is valid for use in official submissions in that country only if the certificate is issued within a certain period.  This does not matter for US immigration.  For US immigration purposes, birth certificates do not expire, regardless of issue date, as long as they are from the appropriate issuing authority.

You can contact vinasolga@hotmail.com.  you scan the document and send it to her,  and she can either email it back to you or send it via caribe express. She is based in the capital. As far as expiration dates on birth certificates,  yes, they used to only be accepted by Dominican officials if issued within the last six months. This has recently changed, and now there is no expiration date.
