The NVC recently reviewed the documents for my husband's IR application. My I-864 (as USC petitioner/sponsor) and financial evidence was all accepted, however there was a message with a review note that said: Please submit every 2020 W-2/1099 form for "me"

I do not have a W-2 as I only have overseas income and I am instead using evidence of our assets to meet the I-864 financial requirements. I already submitted my 2020 IRS transcript and this was accepted. I do have payslips... should I upload some or all of these (there are 26 of them for the year)?  I also provided a letter specifically stating I intend to use assets to fulfil the I-864 requirements due to having no US income so I don't see how payslips or a W-2 for that matter would be necessary or relevant in this case. Has anyone else come across this issue and found a solution? We have decided to add a joint sponsor anyway to cover our bases but this still does not solve the request for W-2 issue. Thank you!!

After you resubmit your documents how long did you wait before NVC get back to you please

We submitted everything to NVC about 5 weeks ago. Still waiting for a response about one document that was incorrect and resubmitted a few days ago.

The NVC review timeframes are posted here and updated weekly every Monday:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

This timing was very accurate for us. Just hoping we don’t have to wait another 5 weeks to get that one doc rechecked!

Possibly a system glitch.  Call NVC to reiterate that you already submitted your 2020 transcript and that you are using assets to qualify.

Another member got the same review note as described in the thread below.  Although their situation is different from yours, they got confirmation from NVC that there is a known system issue involving that particular note --

Ah, thank you! I will try calling. It sounds like we will be waiting several weeks anyway but it might save us another round of delays.

Yeah, it sounds like the wait is the same for new applications and resubmitted documents. I'm going to try calling NVC today and will ask if I get through...

Okay please let me know when you do

I submitted on May 25th for a additional documents they requested.

They say I have to wait according to time-frame.

So even if it's 1 document you gotta resubmit, you still have to wait. So which means you and me both waiting another month as they are only on April 30th right now.

I got through to the NVC call center and yep, the wait time starts over for resubmitted documents. Mine was resubmitted 4 June so I will probably have to wait until mid July for next review.

With regard to the W-2/1099 request that I mentioned at the start of this thread, they said I had to submit an explanation of why I do not have a W-2/1099 form for 2020 (because I have only overseas income).

****If anyone reading this is starting the NVC process and filing the I-864 as petitioner/sponsor while currently residing and working overseas, I highly recommend uploading an additional document that is specifically labelled W-2 or 1099 but instead contains a signed explanation that you do not have a W-2/1099 due to not having a US employer or US income. I had submitted my 2020 IRS transcript as required, listed a foreign employer on my I-864, and even provided a covering letter stating that I was using assets to fulfil the I-864 financial requirements due to having no US income... they still sent me a review note requesting 2020 W-2/1099 forms*****
