Hello everyone,

I went to the N400 interview on 5/5 in Los Angeles, and the officer gave me an approval letter. But I did not have oath details on that date. Does anyone know how long will it take to receive the oath notice (through the USCIS account) after the interview? My account now(5/10) still shows “Interview Was Scheduled,” and does not have any updates. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Just give it a few more days. It really depends on how many people they have in line for oath. I had my interview on May 6 and my oath is on May 26th in Houston office (It is considered as one of the busiest office). So you should hear back soon.

Thanks for the reply.  My officer told me there was a computer issue, so she could not date me the oath on the interview date and asked me to go home and wait for the oath letter. But no update shows that  I have completed my interview on 5/5 when I check the USCIS account.

Hi if you don't mind can you tell when did you apply for citizenship as I have also applied in LA for citizenship in Nov 2020 and I don't even have biometric appointment yet.

No problem, I am willing to share with you.
My case was filed on March 21, 2020, and had a bio appointment on March 11, 2021. It took a very long time.

This is posted on the Central District of California page for oath ceremonies

i would suspect the news media to announce when they catch up and things finally get completely back to normal

BTW each of the scheduled dates for 2020 had 5000 people

and they have been doing them the same day as interview as the normal ceremony is suspended according to the post

You can refer to the Central District of California for the schedule as they did one on May 3, 2021 at interview

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to protect public health and safety, the Court has temporarily suspended its naturalization ceremonies until further notice and delegated authority to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) to perform administrative naturalization ceremonies. Please refer to Order Of The Chief Judge 20-095 for additional details.

6 days without an oath date is too soon to worry. Start to worry at 45 days.

Were you offered a a same day oath (I've read reports LA does those)?

Be happy you got an approval letter. Most don't. I didn't.

Thank you so much!  I know I should be happy after receiving the approval, but I felt nervous because most people getting approval will also have oath information on the interview date. I am worried I miss something, especially no updates on my USCIS account. I am worried my case is not finalized because there is a computer issue on my interview date.

LA office had the same date for interview and oath, but someone also went to interview on May 6 in LA office said, the officer told him there will not be the same day for interview and oath anymore.

We did have the oath information date after the interview

we got a written notice (some of which had to be filled out in front of the USCIS officer day of oath) about a week later
