When you ask for your documents to skip the line because you have an emergency. You tell NVC that your spouse needs to be with you  as soon as possible because there is an emergency

Thank you Aishaqueen for your encouragement! I took your advice and submitted a request for my husband’s case to be expedited and they approved him on yesterday! NVC said that I would receive the interview date soon! How long did it take for you to get the interview date after your approval??

Will he get the visa in 72 hours so that my husband can come  to the US with me? How long does it take for him to get his green card? Sorry for so many questions. Will you just tell me what to expect so that I can be prepared? It would be greatly appreciated. I’m excited and nervous at the same time!

No. the expedited request is approved. that mean now the embassy will schedule his interview and not the NVC. he has to wait for the interview now.

You will be able to pay for the green card fee only when the visa will be issued and in hand, it takes 30-60 days from the day of entry in US for the green card to delivered to your physical address. Everything will be fine. don't be nervous and have all the required documents ready.
