I thought I was the only one! I felt this exact same way last weekend, I called the National Passport Center, waited for a very very long time only to get connected to someone that felt didn't care about my situation.
I received my passport book on July 3rd and got my Naturalization Certificate July 19th, I was very desperate as I have to leave the country in the next couple of days! I did ask her if there was anything I could do or know to track this important piece of document and she said "There is nothing, you just have to wait", very frustrating! Best of luck for you! Let us know how it went.

That is actually fast if you got your passport on July 3 and your Naturalization Certificate was returned to you on July 19. I am waiting for almost a month now. I got my passport book on June 26. My husband has not received his yet. The person I tlked to was just "hhaha backlog IS crazy". I tried to empathize with him and said "yup it is an understatement, I know" But apparently they don't have any way of tracking when they even sent it back. I thought I read somehwere here that you can give them a call and they can tell you when they sent it back. but this guy did not even care ad said "well, we don't have that information."

It wasn't unheard of to get the naturalization certificate back 2 months after receiving the passport (we saw this in various N-400 facebook groups), that was in the beginning of this year so it could potentially take even longer now unfortunately. I was lucky, it only took 2 business days between passport and naturalization certificate, that was in the beginning/mid May this year.

And yes other people have called to ask about their documents and was told if and when it was shipped back. Seems like this guy didn't want to help.

Hi Guys! So my green card expires in September and I haven't heard anything about my interview being scheduled. I know I still have time but what happens if my green card expires before I become a citizen? I applied last May but obviously everything got delayed because of COVID.

It's ok. You won't lose your status even if your green card expired.  I had the same dilemma last March. I applied for citizenship last MArch 2020 but then my GC expires on MArch 2021. I had to call them several times because I was planning to visit my sick parents. But I got my interview scheduled on 23rd of March and my GC expired on MArch 1, 2021. It was fine. And after the interview, I got same day oath. They only took it and did not even ask anything.
