Has anyone received a biometric appointment for the Indianapolis office recently? I don't seem to see a lot of information/people going to that office and would like to understand what the timeline is for them.

(As shown on our timeline,) we did biometrics 2021-02-16 during the snowstorm. We had an appointment for 8AM, but the office was closed until 10AM. We went anyway, and biometrics were completed at about 11AM. The next day, online status was marked as having biometrics applied, and two days after that, marked as "ready to be scheduled for an interview".

We filed a month before you, but got an RFIE, which might impact biometrics scheduling. Six months after we filed, we contacted Senator Young's office to see if they could get us an appointment. A week later, we were scheduled. So, it was about 8 months between filing and biometrics day, or 6.5 months between RFIE response and biometrics day.

It seemed fairly busy when we went to the appointment. The field office and ASC are together on the same floor of an office building near downtown.

Thanks! It's good to know that there is at least some movement. I'm gonna wait it out a little bit more but hopefully I get my appointment soon.

Seems like at least a bit of a good sign, yeah? Glad you were able to get you bios, even with the snowstorm.

I finally got my biometric appointment scheduled. Reaching out to the senator helped (I think).

That's great! I still haven't had my bio scheduled, but I reached out to Congressman Carson's office. Hoping that helps.

Just updating to mention that my bios have been scheduled for 05/04. Just got an email from my Congress Rep today.

Congratulations! I am getting my interview that day as well! I just received the notice today. Glad to see things are moving forward.

Woah! That's awesome! Did you get your EAD yet or they just moved straight to the interview?

My I-765 was updated to show that my fingerprints were taken but that's it. I have a feeling that the I-485 process will finish before I get my EAD

I've been seeing some of that happening to other people. To be honest, it makes me a bit peeved because we haven't been able to work for months... And then we're gonna have to pay again to our permanent green cards...

I didn't know that reaching out to anyone was an option! Would you mind sharing how you reached out to the senator and what exactly one might say in the letter?

What did you say when you reached out? We've been waiting a long time so I may have to try this.

I basically stated that I had been waiting for over 7 months (at the time) and had been passed up for multiple jobs because I couldn't give employers a clearer timeline. I also gave details on my timeline, including dates and receipt numbers. Once Rep. Carson's office received my inquiry, they sent a privacy release form for them to put a request on my behalf. It took a little over 30 days to get a response from USCIS.
