Does anyone know if the embassy in Bangkok requires the financial documents (affadavit of support, tax returns) at the time of the interview? I've read conflicting information online and the embassy wasn't helpful in their email response.

When my wife did her interview back in 2018 at the embassy for her K1 they did ask for the I-134 and my current paystubs/ tax transcripts. We had already sent them with Packet 3 or 4 when we made the appointment, but the officer did look at them and hand them back to her. Maybe just comparing originals to what was sent in? Who knows. I sent her with just about anything they could possible ask for. was it a little overkill, maybe, but had no issues and a rapid approval. I would say to take them so you have them in case they ask. You don't want a 221g and have to delay things for something that is easily covered at the time of interview.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

When I asked NVC why they asked for something they already sent, the rep said that it's like when you're at the airport and they check your boarding pass multiple times.

Normally yes, these documents are often requested at the visa interview, so I recommend taking them with you.  Best to have more documents than you need just in case they ask for them, than to have a delay in issuing the visa.  Good luck!
