Visa Pickup at Embassy

Just curious if anyone has picked their visa up from the embassy directly after their interview later that day or the following?

I called the embassy and inquired as to if this was something they could do under extenuating circumstances, and they stated they could.  I'm wondering if anyone here has actually had that happen?

They don't print them same-day.

I don’t know of anyone who got same day in hundreds...many  hundreds of visas I have read about. I know of one whose visa was delivered and the name was wrong and had to be redone. She got to pick up the redo by special permission.

How about the next day or day after for pickup?

Well when I got mine a VERY long time ago you walked out with the Visa and your Passport.

Not sure the way they do it now it could be same day, do not see why they could not hold it for collection if they were feeling kind.

FAQs London website. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-faqs/courier/  That’s about all I know on the subject. Work it out with the embassy if you think they will accommodate you.

Your passport will be returned to you by the Embassy approved courier service.  To ensure that there are no delays with the delivery, you must register with courier at the time you schedule the appointment for your visa interview.

So they held fast to their policy of sending it via the courier, however:

I'm assuming there is no reason to believe it won't be available for pickup at the drop-off tomorrow now?

Yes. Tomorrow will be your day.
A couple of years ago people found that when the email arrived, it was actually already at the depot. They headed down (allowing time for parcel sorting) and collected. For those in the same town as the depot maybe something easy for people to try. But with holiday deliveries and everything else going on, next day pickup is soon enough.

Its incredible because his interview was only yesterday! And I watched the CEAC status and it went from READY this morning (hadn't even changed to AP) to issued in a matter of hours. Then this email came shortly after.

Well you can’t beat that.  When K1s, work visas, visitor visas, LPR spouses open up again, people are going to be saying “I heard visas come in two days”. Doubtful.  One bonus for you lot is you have little competition for the visa printer and DX. Merry Christmas🌲
