Hi All,

I sent an expedite request to the NVC, but have not heard back, not even a confirmation email. It's been a week since I sent in the request. Would it be appropriate to re-send my expedite request? What is the average timeframe between sending the request and getting a reply confirmation of receiving my request?

Thank You!

I sent one off for my husband last week too and I haven’t received a response yet.

I really hope you also hear back from NVC soon.

I just want an answer; even if it's "no", just something (getting a bit frustrated)! As is with everyone's case right now, not knowing how much longer we have to be away from our spouses is incredibly stressful, and just too emotionally draining. Praying for strength to get through this!

Call NVC. I sent in expedited requests several times.  Sometimes it takes a few days and sometimes a few weeks for them to “receive it” even though it is email. I had them say they never received it as well.
Doesnt hurt your case to call. It just sucks to wait on hold for an hour just to get questions answered.

I called yesterday, and I think it may have helped. Later yesterday evening, I got an email reply saying that they are reviewing the request to expedite my immigrant visa case, and reminded me that only the US consulate an approve the expedite.

Just wanted to update: unfortunately I heard back from NVC this morning, and they said that the US Embassy cannot expedite my case. I guess it was worth trying. God knows when this consulate will re-open, if ever, as they keep claiming "bio-security". Not sure they understand how taxing this is on a marriage. Anyhow, let's see what happens...

What was the reason for your expedite?

What was your reason for the expedite request? How long did it take for them to respond? What country are you processing through? Sorry for all the questions 😩

My reason for expedite had numerous factors to request an expedite of which included items mainly pertaining to my job, but added some items on emotional hardship, etc. I am processing through the Bogota, Colombia embassy. It took them about 2 weeks from start to finish to hear back from them.

Ugh that’s so frustrating I’m so sorry. Ours is mostly due to our infant daughter being so attached to him. USCIS expedited our case so I attached the evidence of that and hopefully they will agree? Idk. It’s been 2 weeks now and I haven’t heard a thing. Called twice and it hasn’t helped. I feel bad bothering NVC because I know they’re so busy but we’re running out of time to travel together 😩

So sorry to hear that. So my exact timeline was as follows: Within 5 working days of having sent the expedite request, I got a confirmation email that they have received my request. And 5 more days after that, I got the response that the embassy cannot expedite my case. Have you at least heard back from NVC confirming that they received your expedite request? What embassy are you trying to process through?

It was mainly due to issues with my job and travel restrictions imposed by my job, but also items such as emotional hardship, etc.

Well I sent the request 2 weeks ago, then another last week, and I still haven’t heard anything after talking to the same agent twice. I called again today and another agent was super helpful and said they couldn’t see the emails, so she outlined exactly how to put it through so it would get seen ASAP. Hopefully I hear back soon. We’re going through London.
