Hi,

I am k-1 AOS applicant. Already received my EAD in late September’20. But since then my I-485 petition case status shows ‘Interview Canceled’ . Before that, status was ‘Interview Scheduled’ . Its been now 2 months for same status and no information form USCIS. What could be the reason of such. What should be done? Any similar case?

Hey

Have you moved recently? There are some others cases which were canceled because of change of address.

Yes, I did. But after that I received my EAD on new address. I did address change online and printed form and mail to described address. This is couple of month old. But If it is the only reason what will happen next, any idea? do I need to act in anyway?

It's a common glitch to receive a interview cancelled update after filing out a change of address online. If you have the letter, and your field office didn't change, just show up to the interview.

How would I know , Which is my field office ?
I haven't received any interview call and I am not expecting in near future. Any guidance ?

I am just scared, If I didn't make any mistake or If I still need to take any step to remove/update  that status change update. Any words??

When did your status change to Interview was scheduled?

I saw your timeline and it says it changed to Ready to Schedule on Aug 3rd. When did it change to Interview Was Scheduled?

Mine was at ready to schedule when I changed my address. It changed to interview cancelled and back to ready to schedule twice.

If you never received a letter, there are two possibilities: you never had an interview scheduled, or you letter was sent to the old address, which happens a lot.

1st time I-485 status was changed to 'ready for Interview ' as per timeline in late august. I changed address in September 1st week. I received address change confirmation after 10 working days, and same day status changed to 'interview canceled'. but its been 2 months now! and there is no news.

So you never had an Interview Scheduled like you said in your first post. Your status will eventually go back to Ready to schedule or change to Interview was Scheduled when it actually gets scheduled.

It's  my typo error in very 1st post. there were only two stage, 1st ' ready for interview' and then 'interview cancelled' . So now I am at 'interview cancelled' update.

Don’t be surprised if you get your GC in the mail, I've seen in other forums, YouTube, etc. that for some people, even Family based related cases got their interviews waived due to the pandemic, delays, etc. Hope you are one of those lucky ones, I'm also in NY and my status appear as Ready for Interview since April and so far no changes....

So this isn't a glitch. We received an interview canceled message and it was due to Covid, even though we never had an interview scheduled. That was back around Feb/March.
We then got a message they were going to schedule an interview. 6 months later, it finally happened and we were approved.
BTW, call USCIS and inquire just to be sure rather than take random advice from random guys like me! :) That's what I did when ours happened and they explained everything.

The interview cancelled after changing addresss online is a common glitch. It happened to me back in march and there are several other posts here about that. It's almost 100% that someone will get this update after filing the change of address online.

I called USCIS when it happened and they told me my interview was cancelled and to wait for the letter. Never got a letter because I never had an interview cancelled because I never had an interview scheduled.
