I applied for my husband last year. My case is currently at NVC waiting to be scheduled for an interview. My question is that I have medical, will that cause a public charge at the time of interview. I don't have anyone who can be a co-sponsor. Should I cancel my medical or leave it as is.

Do you mean Medicaid?  Please be specific.  If you qualify for Medicaid, you probably don't qualify as sponsor.

Do you meet the financial requirements of the I-864 Affidavit of Support?

If you can't meet the I-864 requirements, then your husband will not qualify for a visa.  It will not matter will you are getting healthcare insurance or not.

Are you living in California?  Are you receiving Medi-Cal which is California's version of Medicaid?  Or are you getting Medicare?

If you can't meet the I-864 requirements, cancelling your Medi-Cal will not help you meet the I-864 requirements.  It would only make your situation worse. You still would not qualify to sponsor your husband and you will be without health insurance.

What is medical?

There is Medi-Cal.  Is that what you are saying?

If so, Medi-Cal  IS California's Medicaid program, so actual Medicaid, a means tested program.

Are you comfortably above the income threshold?  If you just barely meet the requirement, your husband may still be asked at the interview for a joint sponsor.

As for Medi-Cal, are you sure you still qualify?  If you do, then whether you cancel Medi-Cal or not, those circumstances that qualify you for the program may cast doubt on your capacity to support your husband in California, even if you meet the minimum income requirement for the I-864.
