So my wife applied for her i-751 in Oct'18 and her N400 interview was scheduled for Mar'20, at which point her i-751 still showed fingerprint was taken. She was only requested to show up for her N400 which was cancelled due to the lock down. However, few months later her i-751 was approved along with N400 (without an interview). Similar thing happened with one of my friends.

Hi guys,

My N400 case just updated to an interview is scheduled but my i-751 still shows that fingerprints was taken, is that means I will have a combo interview?

I would bring my spouse and bring documentation/evidence just in case. Better to be over prepared!

You can also try to call them to ask if this is a combo interview.

If you don't call, just be prepared for either 1) a combo interview, 2) a canceled N-400 interview because your I-751 file has not arrived at the local office or 3) an N-400 interview but receive a 'decision cannot be made at this time' since your I-751 file is not there yet. I'm surprised that a N-400 can be approved without interview but you never know these days.

This is the strangest thing Ive read on VJ. Can you please provide additional details? I looked at your timeline but its not fully completed. From my understanding n400 requires an interview. Due to the pandemic they have lifted interview requirements for some process but not for the n400. Did she get a notice for the oath yet? Did she do the oath? Unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying. One could have a 'combo' interview for the 751 w/o realizing it. But it seems you are saying she didnt have ANY interview- not for the 751 nor the n400.

The worse thing that could happen if she goes with you is that she will stay outside/in the car if they don't want her. But if they do want her and she isn't there then that may lead to complications and rescheduling/delays. It's best to get prepared for everything.

Yes! You could call them and ask, but how many times have people talked to an agent on the phone who says one thing and another agent say something else???

Just FYI there have been a few posts floating around the forums the last few days about this.  Apparently it's an error. USCIS has been sending notices to some who are waiting on rescheduled n400 interviews advising it's been approved along with the 751. You MUST call them.  Advise your friends in the same situation to do the same.  You will not be scheduled for an oath with out the interview.

So please call them to get it straightened out, otherwise you are adding delays.
