The “units” are often the same people at different times of day or different days of the week. DoS has instructed embassies to reschedule other appointments as necessary to accommodate as many DV appointments as possible before FY end. That said, even if that is the case it only explains why nothing would be available till 30 Sept, not why they cannot get anything after that.

Kyiv didn't have anything available in Aug 2020 when we tried to reschedule in July.  I emailed them and they said they had no available dates.  The first week of August we tried again, and 3 dates in August were available.  Back then, student visa applications had priority.

I assume the embassy has not refreshed or updated their appointment calendar and will probably not do so until they are close to finishing the DV applicants.

For a B visa? That is interesting because the US embassy website for. Ukraine says they are not issuing them yet, and the visa wait time website indicates emergency appointments only.

Thanks both Steve and Suzie,

We have no idea what's going on, hopefully we will be able to find out tomorrow what the situation is.

So totally different situation....ok

Not really.  In our case, IV possibly impacted by NIV.  OP's case, NIV possibly impacted by IV.

Yes different, because of the priority with which an IR/CR1/2 visa is treated currently vs B, even if your speculation is correct.

My point was that in late July, there were no August appointments available.  In the first week of August, there were August appointments available.  And if IR/CR is higher priority than B, then there not being any Oct appointments for B now (in Sept) is not that unusual.

It's been a few posts, but my original comment was in regards to the OP and others wondering why the automated system doesn't show any B appointment availability, even for Oct.
