Just got off the phone with NVC, and nope, they have no record of our case yet :(. On the plus side I was only on hold for like 5 minutes. On the down side the guy was extremely rude and kept asking me exactly what my NOA2 said, as if I was lying about getting approved or something... I'll try again Friday.

I had the same experiance... some people were extremely rude another people were extremelyy polite :) Good luck

Same here...it's kinda the luck of the draw on who takes your call. For the most part, they were friendly and helpful, but there were some jerks also. It's coming, hang in there. I'm surprised that you weren't in 'the box' with us though considering your NOA2 date and how long we actually waited to be sent. Makes me think that we under some kind of background check before we were sent. We sure do go through enough background checks if nothing else.

I agree... I think they recieve our cases and after NVC checks everything, and after they give new case number according to US Consulate name. I think even if they recieve your case they tell you don't have it so it means they are still cheking it.. and as soon as they checked it they give a number and put this infrmation in their system. May be I am wrong but it looks like that :)

I have everything needed for the interview. All I am waiting on is the appointment letter from the Consulate and then we can go for the interview. Hopefully, the background checks at the Consulate will go quickly and we'll receive the packet soon. I am sooo ready!!!!!

Said it should get there in the next few days...yes! All you guys approved on the same day as me were probably in that same box...

I called NVC today and they said that they haven't received my petition. I called USCIS and they said they don't have it either. I am sure that it is sitting on someone's desk there at NVC under a pile of other petitions not processed yet. I will call back in about a week or so. The processing takes 2-4 weeks anyway.

I know it is tough on everyone just trying to get some answers from USCIS/NVC. I just hope all of you get your petitions forwarded to the embassy's, so that you can get your appointment dates.

So I'm trying to get ahead and have my fiance fill out the things necessary to send for Packet 3, and on the checklist I have one question (I know they are different depending on the country, but someone must know), do I put a check next to this one or not:

Beneficiaries of family-sponsored petitions must also include:

Proof of Relationship: Please provide all original documents used to establish the qualifying family relationship.

Is this considered a family-sponsored petition?? If it's not, there is no box to check for evidence to bring for proof of relationship even though it's something I know is needed...please let me know.

Thanks.

As far as i remember reading from another forum in thai (yes, we have VJ in thai, too), no, K-1 is not a family-sponsored petition. so, you don't provide any documents related to that, nor do you check any box there.

anyone familiar with the US embassy in BKK please correct me if i'm incorrect on this one.

Hi Eddie & Mary,

You two are so lucky. We have the same approval date and we still don't have any packet received or appointment posted online. Good luck to your medical and interview Mary. We hope we can hear next week on our case.

I understand how you feel. I think the NVC wait was more difficult that the NOA2 wait. I KNEW the NOA2 would be long, but I was expecting my case to be immediately sent to NVC after approval. It was 16 days before it sent to NVC. I wasn't expecting that at all. I've seen several on here that weren't sent until after 3 weeks or more though. After NVC though, it all gets better! You know you're over every hurdle except for the big one..the interview. Good luck! I know it's easy for me to say now.....but it will come.

Thanks vismaster. I just got off the phone with the NVC folks and no case YET, with the typical response of 2-4 weeks.
