Hello,

My wife has finally reached the interview stage and will be conducted within a month.

I read about this blue form(221g) that some of the applicants receive after the interview (temp rejected/more info needed).

So, if you can, what are the potential reasons for rejection?  and what do we need to prepare for to prevent this potential temporary rejection?

As of now, our plan is.

1.  I found +100 questions online relevant to the CR1 that people posted they asked during the interview.  So we prep those questions and answers.

2.  We look over all the official documents/applications we submitted.

3.  I ask my wife to get a letter from her employer to verify her employment.

4.  We will prepare/review all our financials

5.  We will make a more complete photoalbum.

Any feedback be great.

Thanks.

What country?  There are too many reasons for refusal to post.  All you can do is to have everything the consulate requires, answer all questions honestly, and exercise patience.  All cases go through administrative processing after the interview.....good luck.

Blue form is for a missing document and it can be for any one of the ones they want to see like

a birth certificate

a divorce agreement

or any of the ones the embassy deems needed

it is not a rejection,  it is "on Hold"

Hello Lucky Cat,

The interview will take place in Korea.

I read that the visa could be approved on the same day as the interview and they will allow you to leave the country in a week or so.

It's weird.  If we did it online and all our documents were "accepted," in theory we wouldn't get rejected than?

A 221(g) is a refusal pending additional information to determine eligibility. This can be for missing documents, background checks outstanding, supervisor review, etc.

Can be. Many times it may take longer too. Especially nowadays with very limited staff.

NVC acceptance does not equate to approval. The CO makes the final call. NVC just does a basic check of documents.

The main one there is the I-864. NVC only checks the minimum requirements are met, meanwhile the CO evaluates the totality of the circumstances to determine if they are likely to become a public charge.

those are scanned copies

at interview usually originals are needed

and sometimes a person just forgets to bring one

visa can be approved in same day but takes time to print out the visa itself and you can leave as soon as it is in your hand but don't buy plane tickets until then
