Affidavit for support for interview

Hi all,

Panic over, found DS-260 confirmation page.

 

US husband can’t find affidavit page/ documents he submitted. Are they needed again at interview?

Hi, yes the visa applicant (or ‘beneficiary’) will need the i864 plus tax/income documents for their interview. These would have been submitted at the NVC stage. 

 

Depending on the consulate, a copy of the original is fine!

Yes, they are needed at the interview.  Just complete a new I-864 for the interview.  Actually, having an updated, current one is a good idea, anyway.

They are needed, but should be accessible from what was sent to the NVC. Original I-864s are not required in London and the uploaded file is usually enough. However, if that isn’t found, they will ask for what is missing to be sent to them. Example, the recent London case where they said at the interview that the I-864 was there, and tax return, but not the W2 to go with it. The beneficiary had to submit the W2 (photocopy ok) via courier back to the embassy, even though she was certain it was uploaded to NVC.  So you should be fine with what is already in the file, but having a copy in hand would be great backup for any glitches.
