Good news! I just scheduled the K1 interview on 10/20. My case was arrived to embassy and ready since March, but I didn't have the chance to schedule a date. Now I figure all of cancelled interviews are scheduled and embassy is beginning to process the backlog!

Is this a re-scheduled interview or your first? I'm curious to know how far out ours could be. We're hoping to schedule ours in the next few weeks.

It's my first scheduled interview. Does your case status show "ready" on DS-160?

It says "Ready" on the CEAC page. Is that what you're talking about?

It's good to hear that interviews are relatively quick.

If it says Ready, you can go to the traveldocs site to enter your details, fill out the DS-160 and schedule your interview.  Use the case number from the NVC, per the guidelines that @Greenbaum posts in the K1 progress tracking forum:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nfin98c33IEpB0T0FlURERriblYmlm5O/view

DS-160's are done, we're collecting reports and scheduling medicals now. I actually got a personal response from the embassy with what to do next instructions! I was surprised.

Hopefully we can get the interview scheduled soon.

The Kyiv embassy has been good, especially compared to other embassies.  All of us are lucky that our significant others are Ukrainian.))

Yeah, it sounds like the interview won't be that far out once we're ready. If we can make it happen like we want, our whole process will have taken a year. November to November. Not that bad with all things considered.

Had our interview today and approved!  Fiancée showed up half hour early at Kyiv embassy and it was nearly empty.  After being escorted in, kind woman asked for various documents and after this collection my fiancée was asked to sit and wait for interview at window.

After a short time (assuming docs were good) she was asked to come to window and a man gave interview.  She was first asked what language and she chose English,, maybe it helps case?

my fiancé was asked about our meeting and where, what do I do for a living, what does my fiancé love about me and what does she dislike.  My fiancé was honest and said that we needed more time to get to what could annoy her, but everything is wonderful now and we get along very well.  She thinks that the way she answered was helpful because she was just answering as honest as she could and the the man said congratulations, smiled and you are approved!

My fiancé didn’t get any paperwork besides a half page of paper with approval and to wait up to 14 days for visa back (if delivered) or could pick up in 5 days.

Those that are still waiting.. remember to double, triple check paperwork, be open and forthcoming with honest answers and everything will work out.

We’re still a little in shock that we made it.  Still doesn’t feel real.  The waiting is over and the feeling of sometimes despair because of this extended waiting and uncertainty has been a struggle, but it was worth it.  We believe that they want you to succeed in Kyiv, just do your part.

Great news!

I have a recommendation and a favor.  Your fiance cannot fly via Europe to the US because of the travel ban proclamation.  But Turkish Air, via Istanbul, should be Ok.  If your fiance does fly via Turkish Air, could you provide a follow up post, or just message me?  My wife is flying over in November, and she will more than likely use Turkish Air.  We'd like to know what document they need to let her fly (she recently got her CR1 visa).

I bought her and her son a ticket on Turkish Airlines for Nov. 8th from airport in Ukraine -> Istanbul -> New York, which I've read is OK.  I am unaware of any other documentation that would be needed to do this without quarantine, etc.  Is there another document(s) needed?

I would think the passport stamps / tickets/  itinerary is enough to prove that they arent in a zone that cannot travel.

Awesome.  I assume her K1 is enough for Turkish Air to allow her to continue onto NYC at Istanbul.

I just flew Turkish airlines to Ukraine from the USA to be with my wife as she gave birth and to go to her interview with her. I received a ton of sh*t going through the border control in Lviv because I flew through Istanbul and not direct from the USA. I had to beg to be let into the country and after 10 minutes of talking they let me through. This is even though I had the covid 19 insurance, regular Ukrainian health insurance an invitation from my wife, our marriage certificate etc.

Just FYI for anybody else who plans on flying to Ukraine you may be in for a bit of a battle.

Sorry to hear about the hassles.  I think it may be because of Lviv - staff that are not used to processing passengers from a wide array of foreign countries get nervous and make you jump through hoops just so they don't get reprimanded.  Borispyl staff tend to be much better and more knowledgeable.
