Hi! I hope everyone's doing well!

I have not been here for a long time now so I'm not sure if someone asked this already.

So I took my medical exam March 3rd. Following the 6 month rule, this would expire on Sept 3rd right? And within this time, I should get my visa AND travel, enter my POE before this date.

I try to be very optimistic but I want to be prepared for the worst too. If ever this expires, I should get a new one right? Can I get a new one before this date? And if so, would I need to pay the same fee (fee includes vaccines which I already took)?

By the way, I'm at CR1 and I really hope none of the unfortunate hearsays in this thread comes true.

Anyways, any help will do! Stay safe!

Yes you need to complete the visa application process and clear POE before the expiration date on the visa .  The visa validity is tied to the date of the medical, up to a maximum of 6 months.

And yes you would pay for another medical, if necessary.

I'm in the same boat. Our medical will expire the beginning of August. I hope there will be an extension, but we will do another medical if necessary.

Medical cannot be extended, therefore a visa validity cannot be extended.   A visa can be reissued at the discretion of the consulate with updated documentation

YMMV

So unfair! If we were that far along and had to pay AGAIN, it would really hurt because we have 4 children traveling.

I am on the same boat, our medical exam will expire September 2020.

I don't mind doing another round of medical but I am HOPING that we do not need to pay AGAIN because this COVID 19 pandemic is beyond our control. We are 2 adults and 1 kid and that is almost 45K.

Sorry I just saw this now. Did you happen to come into anyone who tried redoing the medical? I would think the fee must be less since we already took the vaccines. I have asked SLEC about it but haven't received any reply.

I know of a number of people that had to complete a 2nd medical.   Fee is the listed price

Yes, I also saw. Sadly!

I hope we will get to finish interview and leave until ours expire.

I see cebu pacific will not start International flights until AT LEAST July 31st. More than likely other airlines will follow suit. Also this date can be extended the closer the time comes depending on the situation. Unfortunately I’m getting more convinced we are looking at 4th quarter to early next year for flights to begin. Also philippines is being one of the most conservative countries on COVID. Just look at all the ridiculous domestic travel rules in place.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

^there is an update from the other thread - SLEC expiry. I am sharing it here it here from @jm302music

It looks like, the ones with expired medical should redo it with the same corresponding fees.
