You're leaving in October right around the end of Ramadan. You might want to try moving that date out or in a bit and see if that makes any difference.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Hi JessNGeorges

My 2cents worth -i see it on my booking channel here in Canada for approx $ 1425.00 US DOLLARS return taxes included at today's exchange rate.

There are a couple other airlines that could be cheaper -4flights each way -but they didnt have space available on the dates you need. I tried a few days back and forth with them but it was the same thing.

ETIHAD AIRLINES has space available on the following: - I think you are out of New York flying right?

NEW YORK/ABU DHABI 14JULY DEPART 1110AM ARRIVE 0740AM+

ABU DHABI/BEIRUT 15JULY DEPART 0935AM ARRIVE 11150AM

BEIRUT/ABU DHABI 13OCT DEPART 1305PM ARRIVE 1710PM

ABU DHABI/NEW YORK 14OCT DEPART 0200AM ARRIVE 0830AM

RULES - PAYMENT DUE 2 DAYS AFTER RESERVATION IS MADE.

ON LINE BOOKING THRU BOOKING CHANNEL -Credit card payment only

Once paid -fare is nonrefundable but changes are permitted"

Before departure - 1st change -free

2nd change USD 200.00 change fee

At destination - 1st change -free

2nd change -USD 150.00 change fee

Changes permitted as long as space is available in the lowest fare catagory on new date you want changed.

Minimum stay 7days

Maximum stay 12months

hope this might be of some assistance to you. I ll look around a bit more as I am a travel consultant and if i see anything else i will write it here

Saying you fly out from NYC, since I have no idea where you are at... on Air France tix are 1,447.00 + tax on those dates

And to be honest with 1,500USD is pretty much the standard fare you will be paying for KSA. I doubt you will find anything under that in the peak season. And MBP said you need to work around Ramadan/Eid to get the best price. There will be alot of ppl traveling then.

sarah, yea ive done some things while here and saved some money......

the agent we use in the city is real good, he can usually get me flights to beirut for around 500-600 one way of course. but i know Geo paid 500 from beirut to riyadh and the same week we paid 530 for me to fly from beirut to new york. i am figuring the 1580 will be as good as it gets and i will book that just as soon as he gives me the green light with our date of departure.

yes George was offered a position in Riyadh about 2mths ago, he took it and ive been here in new york since.

and yep im flyin outa nyc. i am actually hoping we are able to adjust my status there without me having to fly back here to ny so soon but if not i will have that ticket and we will just go thru this process again come oct for me to go back......we will have to see. im jumping the gun at the point. he has to go to the foriegn ministry again tomorrow morning some i should know more later tomorrow, inshallah!

thanks everyone

Well Jess figuring you before bought one-ways and the fact that ticket prices are adjusted the currency you are buying it in (example: ticket I back from DZ was much much cheaper then the one I bought to) ... and that now is summer peak season and you plan to return in yet another peak season Ramadan/Eid... $1500 is about what I would except. Try having your husband look for prices there. They could be slightly less. But I would not except much. Also try some off-beat airlines like Turkis airways. Or look for Omra packages. Also adjusting your days so you fly in and out on either Tuesday or Thursday on red-eye flights could save you money as well. Let us know!

Also totally OT but let us know how you imagine life in KSA or your stay? Are you going to niqaab I wonder... KSA is alot different then NYC or even Leban.
