has anyone traveled from USA to Philippines the last couple days? My wife has informed me that once you land at the airport they are testing everyone for covid-19.

My concern is I have a connecting flight from Manila to Davao the same day.
will they be doing testing in Davao instead of Manila just because I have a connecting flight??
So has anyone had any connecting flight from Manila to Cebu, mindano, and Davao etc. ?
What was the procedure ??

I would assume they test it at the final destination otherwise the wouldn’t have allowed you to book the flight.

you may want to check with the airline to confirm this information.

You have to complete a 14 day quarantine as well.  All flight from Manila/Clark and Cebu are grounded until the 31st.  So I don't see you leaving Manila area anytime soon once you arrive.

Yea but I don’t get to Manila till June 3 so might be different

Possible.  Hopefully they will get rid of the quarantine thing soon, and let tourist back into Philippines as well.

You know how strict the Mayor of Davao is. Please keep us posted on your journey there.

I had my early March trip cancelled to Philippines, and early this week American Airlines called me and informed me my flight for June 8th from USA to Philippines was cancelled, I still have late August trip scheduled to Philippines.  And I have relatives in Davao and will eventually make it down there during the trip.

American Airlines does not fly to Philippines and hasn't for decades of ever. I have 5 million miles on AA and never have been on AA metal to there.  United and Delta do and Hawaii did at one time.  You either go to Narita and go via JAL or usually to Hong Kong and then via Cathay Pacific or on PAL.  There was an option to connect via China Southern in Guangzhou but that was to start in April. Cathay is running at less than 10% of it precovid schedule and hasn't run a revenue flight to Manila or Cebu since around March 1 ( I had a flight out from PI scheduled for March 3 that was changed by American/Cathay 11 times before they just re-booked it via Narita on JAL

Well before I was taking Cathay as always and which was closer for me right at Newark airport. So I’m taking a straight flight from JFK

(pal airlines)to Manila and hopefully to Davao that’s my connecting flight.

hope it all works out 🙏🏽

Japan airlines is the travel partner of AA. I fly into Japan and take Japan airlines into Manila.  I do all my booking thru the AA website, thus why AA called me.

There are no direct flights to Philippines from DFW airport.

PAL only fly into a California and New York. I think only 3 airports in the USA.  They used to fly into Las Vegas but I think they stopped around 2012,  but you still had to land in Vancouver for them to gas the plane up, which they made you deplane and wait in a isolated area for a couple of hours.

I was scheduled to leave March 6th, got canned on that fight, rescheduled it to June 8th that one got canned on Saturday.  I booked another flight to Philippines for late August, I had booked that one like 6 months ago.

I am feeling optimistic about my August trip happening, I just hope the country has nightlife and entertainment districts open especially in Manila and Davao.

So my flight jfk to manila got cancelled for the second time again. Suppose to leave in a week and on top of that is my wife has to get here before her visa expires which is in July. its not like my wife and i are not trying to get a flight as possible as we can. But we spoke about it what if we don't get a flight before her visa expires. I can feel her emotion, especially what she been through by herself raising our daughter alone :(. I told her let's not get discourage about this and its not like we did not do anything about it. So with that being said what's the process to get another visa for my wife? it's not like they will extend her visa and also the whole country was on lock down for 2-3 months. I'm sure we was not the only one in this situation to get where they need to be before the visa expires..

if anyone has any opinion let me know and we appreciate you visa journey community
