Travel exception was denied, she just resubmitted.  Any advice from you folks on how to proceed?  My girl is pretty overwhelmed right now, she was also informed that the Toll group had a security breach and the only option at this moment to get her completed passport is to wait or pick it up in Syndey… quite a day.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. If she is resubmitting my only suggestion is to given them plenty of evidence. Review your statement as well maybe changing a few words around could change the whole tone of the request and make it more compelling. And i got my visa back in 2 days. others have had theirs back in 3-4 days. so an option could be to do the interview and stay a few extra days and pick it up from the consulate.

@Harley999999 Thank you, her interview was last Thursday and she's already back home. She has resubmitted we'll just keep trying I suppose.

Yes! I can find flights for the day before. I can book hotels.. Are they open? lol

Congratulations on the interview! :)

I found some hotels were closed but I checked the website directly to ensure they were actually taking bookings :)

Yeah, I stayed at Travelodge since it was close and recommended here.

Looks like there's a few? Which one specifically? I will call them :)

Also who did you all fly with? Qantas seems expensive. Jetstar cheap but I worry they will cancel.

The one near Martin Place. It's a short walk down the road to the consulate.

I flew with Jetstar and Virgin. They were both really full when I flew! I was surprised to see so many people flying to be honest.

Thanks! I will look at that one. Since my three year old is coming with me I want to make it as simple as possible. I am surprised that they were so full. Did you have to show any paperwork to fly or were you just allowed to? Not sure how strict they are with the lockdown etc!

Oh do you mind letting me know how your interview and travel goes as I am not long after you? :)

i flew with virgin, and i got a hotel at Megaboom Sydney. its like 2 streets from the consulate. it was cheap and nice.  I ended up having to stay down there for a week before i could get a return flight.

Wow a week! I am hoping to just do the overnight  - especially with my three year old. I will look at that hotel too! Did you have nay issues flying or need to show any proof?
