I have the 'tips' provided in this forum and I may have some problems...

I purchased my current home about 20 years ago and it is in my name only.

All my utility, cable TV etc, bills are in my name only.

We do have a joint checking account, I purchased a car in her name only (as a gift), she will have an Arizona drivers license showing our address, both her and her daughter have health insurance showing our address, automobile insurance showing our address, photos of our wedding, reception, honeymoon, birthday parties etc. I could also get letters from neighbors...

What else should I do? Is what I have enough?

Bill

That should be enough. How old is her daughter? If her daughter is school-aged, you could provide school records showing where she lives as well. How about photos of you all in your home? It's not too late to add her to all the utility bills. Some companies allow this and some do not, but it's worth a shot. Save any letter envelopes address to both of you at that address (or even separately). I mean, all of this could be "staged" but I think when they look over this at the interviews, they look at how the people react when they're flipping through the evidence and paying attention to tone of voice, body language, etc. more than what is actually being said.

You may be one of the lucky ones that gets transferred to CSC without an interview too! :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it until you get an interview scheduled. I remember reading one AOS interview where the interviewer asked to see the husband and wife's keychains (to see if they had matching house keys). Smart! I never bring my keys if my husband has his and we're out together. You can be damn sure I'm bringing my keychain with me to the interview!

As misa stated, I think what you have will suffice. You may also do the following to prove:

1. Each execute a Living Will and Health Care proxy showing each you as the next of kin and each being the other's representative with the same address;

2. A durable power of attorney; and

3. A Last Will and Testament.

There are quite serious documents and should be able to satisfy the requirements you seek. Good luck.

Thanks for posting that regarding the wills, etc. It's something that my husband and I will have to do (for ourselves, not specifically to satisfy USCIS) and your post is a good reminder that it's better to do that sooner than later!

Sounds pretty good but if you want to do a "slam dunk"! get Life insurance made out to wife and daughter.

Super slam dunk! Get a Revocable Trust.

Your Will showing them as beneficiaries will be part the trust!!!

Good thing to have regardless as there are no estate taxes if you should go belly up!

Cost me $2500 for the trust but a friend of mine did one online for about $500.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Living wills and health care proxies are fast and easy to do. We did our own, and just had it notarized and witnessed. No thousands of dollars spent.

Refer to findlaw to make sure that you use the preferred language for the state in which you reside.

Like I said, the above referenced two documents should be able to satisfy USCIS without having to consult a lawyer and shelling out exorbitant amounts of money.

I've had a revocable trust since 1995 and I have already ammended with regards to the beneficiary, same with the life insurace. Updating the POA(s) is a good idea I had not thought of yet. Thanks for the tips!

We had a joint bank account, with one statement (hadn't used it before, got our interview wicked fast), a letter showing I'd added him to my dental insurance, and a letter showing him as my beneficiary on my life insurance. We had mail in both our names received at our address, etc. but the IO didn't want to see that.

So yeah, I think you have enough.
