adjustment of status after marriage

 last year July 2019 i applied for a student visa and i was denied because of lack of financial support. i later came to the USA because i had a U.S. B2 visa to visit my cousins on September 2019. i meet my now husband in October on a dating app while i was their. he proposed in February 2020 and we got married in march. we are just worried that my recent denial of the F1 visa will affect the adjustment of status process.  if anyone has any answers or has gone through a similar situation i could really use your help.

I wouldn't think that the denied F1 visa would be a big issue as you have not really done anything wrong, just be honest about everything on your application. How long is your I-94 good for? Ideally you want to file your AOS before it expires.

thank you for your help. it expires on the 26 of march.

Shouldn’t be an issue. Your main concern is that if you follow through with AOS you won’t be able to leave the country for many months. So hopefully you have someone back home who can pack up your stuff, return your keys to your landlord, sell your car, re-home your pets, terminate your financial commitments, etc on your behalf.
