Good Day, My Fiancee Was interviewed 2/27/20, But He was under 221g, the Embassy requested a NBI Written explanation and they will be the one requesting it to the NBI, how long does the process takes? The consul returned his passport also. And in the ceac status it is “AP”, his NBI is clear and it says no criminal records, he had a case open back in 2014, but it was closed and no more pending case in 2018. Should we worry for something? Please advise Thank you

Hard to say how long it will take for NBI to get the letter to the embassy.   Once the embassy has the letter it can be another 2-4 weeks if everything is good.

POLICE REPORT (NBI Clearance). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year after its issuance date. NBI’s website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

Just have to be patient for now and check CEAC status daily

Hi sis! We’re on the same boat. My husband also received the letter from the embassy asking for the NBI written explanation. How dis yours go? How long did you have to wait for an update from the embassy after receiving the letter?
