CR1 application

Hello:

 

We are in the process of our CR1 application. I am the beneficiary from the Philippines. My husband to be is retired for so many years and is dependent on his SS benefits and disability insurance. When we compute annually, we are short of about  USD1000. He has savings that would fill the gap to meet the income requirement for our application.  He is not filing his income tax as it's not taxable anymore as what he said. What documents we need from IRS? Is SS statement suffice enough for the affidavit of support and his savings account?

If you are in the process of a CR-1 application he needs to be your husband, not your husband-to-be.

Yes we are now prepping up for our wedding and after we will file the CR1.

For filing the I-130 petition you do not need to provide income information, that is for later at NVC & embassy.

 

The IRS has a online calculator for whether you need to file taxes or not, your husband could complete this and print out the result (last page). 

 

For evidence of income he could print out a copy of his benefits letter from the SSA website/copy of his SSA-1099).   Short falls in income can be mets by assets, money in the bank is an asset.
