I apologize in advance if this is such a stupid question. This is my 1st time getting married and im very confused

we are doing the k1 visa and when my fiancé comes to the US we only plan on having a small wedding party at my house.

once we do that how do we get legally married? Do i have to go to a small wedding chapel in my state? Is this the cheapest route? Once the pastor says you are now husband and wife, does he register us right then and there? Or do we have to go somewhere else?

Anyone know the cost of these things?

thanks again

You need to obtain a marriage licence from the county clerk office  before the ceremony. The priest or the official person who can marry you  is responsible to submit the licence at the county to legalize the marriage . if it is not submitted than it is not official. once its done you are official in the records.

Contact your county or city clerk office for the fees

Yes, call the clerk and they'll tell you how it works in your area. They know best what is needed since it differs from county to county.
