Hi guys,

I am the US Citizen spouse and I'm at the NVC stage of the IR-1 process for my wife in the Philippines. I have read some things about what evidence of relationship may be required at the interview stage of the IR-1 visa. I just wanted to clarify so here is my question:

1. Would the relationship evidence be the same or similar as I already submitted with my I-130 in the beginning of the process?

2. If it's not the same kind of evidence would things like emails and receipts of money being sent to my wife be good evidence also or something else is more important?

Thanks!

If you have made another trip to visit her , or done things like adding her as your beneficiary etc , then these new bits of evidence will be good for her to bring. Whether or not they are looked at by the IO is an unknown .

Yeah unfortunately i haven't made another trip to visit her since 2018 but i have kept in touch with her the whole time via messenger chat. I will also try to email once in a while too.

I thought about the beneficiary thing but don't they need social security number first to do that? Thanks.

What kind of evidence you submitted before?

I submitted our marriage certificate, my daughter's birth certificate, pictures of us together along with wedding pictures, some emails and airline tickets.. I may be forgetting some things.

I'm just not sure if they will be asking for anything different when the interview comes.

Do you have a joint account? Life insurance or other thing that you guys share?

No.. unfortunately not since we don't live together anymore. We did live together for 2 years though in the Philippines until I had to move back to the United States. Maybe I'll check with my wife for anything that has both our names on it still there in the Philippines. Thanks.
