Questions about Vaccinations at Medical Exam

Hi All,

I had a question regarding the vaccinations required for the medical exam. If during the Medical Exam the Physician determines that a certain vaccination is missing, will they be able to give you that vaccination then and there to complete your medical exam? I did email the office and they did seem to respond in the positive, but just wanted to see if anyone has had success in a similar case? Thanks!

Yes they will give you what is missing and mark your medical as complete.   If for some odd reason they can  not give it they will pass the medical and make the vaccination record as not being completed.  This happened to us in Mexico as did not have the flu shots. We just go the flu shot in the states- no issues.

Yes they can give it there. If you think you might have gotten one of them in the past such as the MMR, but don’t have documentation they can do a serology for it as well for a few.

when is the right time to call the medical centre and make the appointment? is it when you receive your LND number from relentlessly calling the NVC or when they email you with the number to say its leaving the NVC?

Either one as long as you know you will have the things you need to take to the medical prepared...police certificate, shot record, healthcare summary print out from GP,  written report from GP if there are any prior surgeries,  conditions, depression. Sometimes GPs can’t be bothered to help you for 3 weeks, so don’t rush the visa medical until you know you’ll have what’s needed.

They will ask your LND number when you call to make the appointment. They will want it in writing when you attend (the NVC email or letter of instruction from embassy).

You can make the appointment with just the number but you will need to show proof of the number at the appointment. So when you get the number it’s safe to make the appointment as long as it’s after when you think your case will ship to the embassy and you’ll have the email. If you have the number Make the medical for about two weeks from when you got the number that should be safe.
