Travelling internationally with old green card after name change

Hi!

Is your old green card still valid for travel after a legal name change?

My wife is a long time permanent resident (green card holder) and has booked a trip to Europe to visit her parents.    She legally changed her last name about 6 months ago and has a new passport and ID card in that name.  Her green card, however, is still in her last name.   She applied for a new green card but still hasn't received a replacement (maybe 6 more months of waiting).  Does anyone know if she will be able to use the old green card (along with the court order as proof of the name change) to return to the US?

Many thanks!

I'm not a lawyer or a CBP officer, but I say yes.

I traveled with my green card in my married name and passport in my maiden name with marriage certificate and never had a problem. I'd say she should take the court order and also the the NOA 1 that she got that she applied for the new green card. She should be set with that.
