Hi Wayne, Quick question regarding applying for a drivers license. Currently applied for AOS for my wife. Can she apply to a FL Driver's license just with the document that we have applied for her status change? That is the NOA paper correct?

 

Thanks for any help with this. In Florida too. My wife just had her biometrics yesterday. Went very smoothly. In and out of the West Palm Beach office.

You would need the Approved I-130, NOA for the I-485, I-94 (can be expired), Passport, Marriage Cert and evidence of the petitioner status, which would be you, the USC. Birth Cert works fine for you.

 

I have a PDF i found online some time ago that shows list of acceptable documents for FL Driver's Licenses.

We are at the beginning of the process, so we'll have to wait. Submitted all the documents together (1-30, I-485, Aff. of Support, etc.) I really appreciate you responding so quickly. Appreciate the info. Thank you Wayne!

Today the app was updated to Fingerprints were taken. Exactly one week after my appt. However, interestingly it shows only for my i485, even though my NOA says for i485 and i765.

I been hearing others saying that as well. Still waiting on mine to update since Bio was done, maybe it will take a week for me too 😁

Morning all, so guess what i did wrong hahaha. My I-131 got rejected because I selected the wrong option on the application form and silly me didnt realize the form was expired. Somebody from Lockbox email was kind enough to email me explaining what I did wrong and what I need to do to refile it. So I just need to fill out the updated application, select the right option this time and the send it off back to them so they can add it to my EAD. Nobody to blame but myself lol

WOW they definitely were nice enough to email you about it instead of you having to wait for the snail mail. That would have taken forever!!!

Yeah, in Part 2 on the I-131, I select 1.a instead of 1.d. I would have to pay if I really was to select 1a but because of the pending I-485, I would select 1d for the AP. Silly error by me lol

Although its not on the visa timeline entry page, I thought I'd update here.  Today I received an NOA stating Receipt of my i-485J form, which was submitted as part of my i-485 package.  Dates that seem important:

 

i-140 - Approved early 2019

i-485 received date - 12/09/2019

Bio appt - 12/30/2019

i-485J Notice Date - 01/24/2020

 

No updates online on the i-485 (presumably because the i-485J was given its own receipt number, which states 'Fees were waived' on the case status checked).

 

Hope this helps anyone else with an ominous looking letter from the USCIS in USPS Informed Delivery
