I was supposed to have an interview on Dec 6th 2019 at San Jose field office, but I received USCIS notice saying, "This is to advise you that, as requested, we have canceled the interview on Friday 06 2019 at 12:40PM for above application."

I did not request this cancellation then why does the letter say as requested, we cancelled your interview?

I would appreciate if someone with similar experience could share their input or suggestion.

Have you contacted USCIS and asked them?

I called USCIS this morning, but they didn't give me a clear answer. The representative on phone said it might be due to staffing shortage, but she didn't give me a clear reason for the cancellation.

Also, my I-751 (Green Card) application is still pending for over 16 months now. I am guessing that could be the reason for the cancellation.

Should I still go for  interview on the original date or wait for reschedule notice?

I would go to the interview on the scheduled date just to be safe. If you received a notice saying they cancelled the interview per your request but you didnt request that, then don't ne surprised if you get a letter saying you failed to attend the interview.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.
