Hello,

I would appreciate any insights on the following:

After my K1-Visa Approved Finacee and I were married we submitted the AOS paperwork (I-485)

and then applied for a Social Security # for her.

They reviewed her documents, checked her status via their connection to USCIS computer systems

and told us she could indeed get a Social Security #/Card.

After a few weeks, when we didn't receive the card, we went back to the SS office. They then told us that

her SS #/Card couldn't be processed because USCIS computer systems were withholding approval

from SS systems because the AOS application was currently in process.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thank you for your help.

You should've applied for SSN BEFORE getting married.  it's the better route.  You need to wait until you are issued the work authorization.
