I-130 Approval - 09/14/2020

NVC Received - 09/14/2020

Paid NVC - 09/15/2020

Submitted Docs to NVC - 09/22/2020

DQ by NVC -  11/04/2020

Interview Notice - 03/12/2021

Received at consulate - 03/15/2021

Interview registered and confirmed for 04/28/2021

My parents had their interview today. They were interviewed together by a friendly officer. They were interviewed about 2.5 hours after their scheduled appointment (8am local time).
The interview lasted around 20 minutes. They were asked to provide a new police certificate (which they fortunately had), marriage certificate, their birth certificates, and my birth certificate. They were asked about how I got to the USA, information on my employment history, where my sister lives and why they decided to relocate to the USA and not where my sister lives.
Besides the wait, they had a very pleasant experience and they are extremely grateful that they have been approved.

Affidavit is something needed. DNA is something they will take also if you don’t have anything to prove that she is your mother.

I didn’t add any other evidence except my birth certificate.

My baptismal card didn’t have her name on there, most of the documents didn’t, so they aren’t conclusive therefore as they stated that if the other evidence are inconclusive DNA will be used.

The affidavits, there’s no one available at this time who was a witness to my birth. I am hoping they ask for DNA since that’s the perfect way to prove she’s my mother.

For my application, I used a copy of my birth certificate and naturalization certificate. I got an RFE due to mismatch of names ( my mum’s passport omitted her maiden name which was on my birth certificate). I submitted my baptism card , which had her maiden name listed and it was approved. I did not use any affidavit.
