So you’re saying the date of marriage listed on the divorce decree is incorrect?

Yes, Jorgedig.

The date of the previous marriage stated on the Divorce Decree from the Customary Court is incorrect. The correct date is May 30th 2015. But I don't blame the officials from Court for this mixup. In my head, I had always had April 2015 as the date of my previous marriage. I gave that date during the divorce proceedings.

Is it advisable I send an email to US Consulate with an attachment of a sworn notarized affidavit to confirm the correct date of my previous marriage, from the Notary Public office?

Are legal documents usually treated so casually in Nigeria?  Seems very odd to just give a rough estimate for something like a marriage.

Under customary marriage laws in Nigeria, there are no marriage certificates issued. Customary marriages are only known between the intending couples, family members of the couples and people who witnessed or participated in the ceremony. This makes it difficult to clarify the date at which such marriage was established or registered. You can find more about Customary Marriages in Nigeria here: https://www.wikiprocedure.com/index.php/Nigeria_-_Register_Customary_Marriage

Do you advise I send an email to the US Consulate with an attachment of a sworn affidavit to confirm the correct date of my previous customary marriage, notarized by a Notary Public office?

All glory to God Almighty. My case went through Administrative Processing successfully and after 95days I received a call/email to submit my passport for my immigrant visa. I picked up my passport and visa, 2 days ago. Praise God.
