RFE after interview

My Fiance and I were approved on 10/15 at the interview. During the interview, there was some confusion about the validity of her divorce decree. on the following friday, she received an email asking her to send the original decree. The attendant made a mistake because she approved everything but we sent anyways. They received the documents on 10/23. My question is...should it be relatively short time for approval since we completed the interview? Anyone have experience with this?

"Short" is relative. It's basically when someone gets around to get back to your case.

Agree. It is highly unlikely that the office staff has stopped doing all of their other work, and are just waiting to receive your response to your RFE. There is no time frame for completion after receipt of RFE documents. Hopefully it be processed promptly.

I'm sure they are not waiting for our documents in particular but it's been over a week since they received them. I just didn't know if anyone else had experienced this process.

Sure, there are lots of folks that get RFEs all the time during their immigration journey. You are certainly not the only one to receive an RFE. Just check some of the forum pages, there are RFEs mentioned all the time.

We had managed to escape the "dreaded" RFE letter all through our journey, only to get one during our ROC processing. We supplied them with the information that evidently the USCIS adjudicator felt that they needed for our case. If I remember correctly it took about 4-5 weeks from our receipt of RFE notice, to submission of info, to approval of our RFE application. Just hang tough, and sit back and wait for the good word.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
