Why would 3 years difference be an issue?

My fiance is 6 years older than me, and I'm not the least bit concerned.

The issue is when the wife is older--CO's HAVE been known to ask RFE's (or even push to AR) on this.

When husband is older, it will sail through scrutiny (yes, it is a double-standard--but not much you can do when such a standard is applied by someone with "authority")

My soon to be wife is 11 years older then me... and so far USCIS and NVC didn't have a problem with it.

I'm sure we won't have a problem with it either at the embassy either.

That´s a big relief then, not that I was too worried, but I´m making sure to get no gaps or suprises, like them questioning me why would I marry someone younger, bla bla bla ,although 3 years is indeed nothing.

It depends on how old you are... when you're a kid or a teenager, three years makes a world of difference, but it ceases to matter once you're out of the education stage and you're all out in the big wide world with the rest of us eg. 15 - 18 is such a huge diff. that I'd question the motives of the older party, and 18-21 seems pretty big to me, but 21-24 is nothing

I very much doubt that USCIS will pay any attention to a 3-year age difference!

disqualify! the issue is more when the wife is older than the husband.

And I think that depends on the embassy. There have been posts here where the petition was denied because the woman was 10 years older but with other embassies they had no problems. Age can always be an issue if the petition doesn't look right - whichever way the age difference goes so I declare myself qualified again

It seems if the man is older than the woman its more excepted. I am a woman and i am 15 years older than my fiance. I wonder what will be the results of my case becouse of this. One good thing is people say i don't look my age so maybe that will help.

Yeah, not teens anymore. I´m 26 and he´s 23. Well, he´s actually not 23 yet, he will be in May. I just turned 26.

Yes three years is nothing to worry about. Unless the foreign fiancé shows up for the interview in his or her grade school uniform, age isn't ever going to matter if everything else is in order. Manila is one of the toughest embassies to get through and men rob the cradle there all the time. Age is not an valid reason for denying a visa.

I (female) am also 3 years older then my fiance (the male) and I never thought twice about it....3 years is not that big of a difference and I dont think we will have any problems...No worries!!!
