I paper filed on Oct. 22, USCIS received the case on Oct. 28, I today received a letter with my receipt number stating that an online account is created for my case. I guess that is first NOA

Yes indeed. And if you go to the online account you get notifications before they make it in the mail. Biometrics appointment seems to come quickly.

I recently applied for N-400 (no pending I-751 application). However, I just realized that I had signed up for the selective services in 2015 when I was on a student visa. I believe that I had been registered when I applied for a drivers license. Will that be a problem? I contacted the selective services agency (not sure of the name) to see if I can make any corrections. I just don’t want this ‘early’ unintentional registration to be an issue. Any thoughts?

Good afternoon.

I went for biometrics in Greer, SC. It was a breeze, got in and out in less than 10 minutes. Due to school cancelations I had to bring my kids along, and the officer was very understanding and made it a learning opportunity for them. No wait and nice officers. The agent thinks the interview will however be in NC due to the way the law is. So the rest may be in Charlotte. Too bad  because I liked the little Greer office.

Website date went from May to April 2020.

Now on to waiting for the interview.

You may want to also post this under the general section. I’m not sure personally.

I don't know you guys, but memorizing all those answers will be easier when I actually know more about the US History. I found this US History Crash Course and would like to share with you here: https://illinois.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/crash-course-us-history/

Anyone else found another good resource for studying other then the ones provided by USCIS?

The book USCIS provide is very easy, there is also an App for smartphones.

One thing I suggest to always keep in my mind, is that USCIS might ask you the question reversed.

In the book for example, the question is:

Q: What is the name of the Chief Justice of the USA?

A: John Roberts

However, the office might ask you the question as:

Who is John Roberts?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Agreed, plus I don’t want to just learn it by heart, I also want to understand it at a deeper level.

I’m reading a book called “constitutional law for kids” by Ursula Furi-Perry, and listening to an audio book on American history.(“I don’t know much about” series).

The estimated completion time of my case dropped after my biometrics appointment. Did this happen to anyone else? How big was the drop if it did?

Mine dropped by one month, but I doubt that the estimated time is correct.

What makes you say that? Do you think the actual processing time is longer or shorter?

My estimated completion wait time is showing January 2020. I haven't had the interview scheduled yet, so I don't know how that can be real.

I've seen some people here on VJ saying that their cases got completed and became US citizens 2 to 4 months earlier than the estimated time. So its all over the place. I wonder what is the earlier/later/on time ratio is.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.
