N400- decision can't be made at interview (merged)

Hello Guys , 

I had my interview last week based on 3 years marriage and the interview went well , passed the tests but decision can't be made by the officer. While reading the reviews i discovered that i had to mention that i got a speed ticket before 2 years that i totally forgot about and didn't mention.

What should i do ? Is that the reason for delay or refusal of the application??

Please advise me .

It's possible but unlikely that that is the reason for the delay. When you're called for your oath ceremony, make sure you mention the speeding ticket before you get your citizenship and it should be fine. You might want to get a certified court disposition for it as well. They just need to know that you paid the speeding ticket.

 

I had a speeding ticket, didn't mention it in my application but did mention it in my interview. The IO just asked me if it was paid, I said yes, and we moved on.

I'm just curious where it says you have to declare a speeding ticket ?

In n400 there is a question about legal issues and court .

some experiences said that you should declare that.

The question asks if you've ever been arrested, its referring to criminal arrests records etc A speeding ticket is not a criminal conviction, its a motoring offense that's all,  therefore you dont have to enter it.

The question asks about any arrests or citations. The speeding ticket is considered as a citation. It's confusing because it also says any citations or fines that exceeds $500 which rarely happens in a case of a speeding ticket, but better safe than sorry.
