Hi Guys, Just hoping someone could help me. Two weeks after arrival into the US on K1 visa I applied for a SSN which is currently processing. I am now filing for adjustment of status and on the EAD form I-765, it is asking if I want a SS card. Do i check no since I've already applied for a SSN or?

Thank you for your help!

I would check yes, even if you get it before you get your work permit, USCIS will send you a replacement card either way.

AOS/EAD/AP ->: 11/29/18 - NOA1: 12/04/18

Biometric NOA:  12/14/18  Biometric Appt: 12/26/18

Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview: 1/16/19

EAD/AP approval: 3/18/19

AOS Interview Appt: 6/4/19

AOS Interview: 7/10/19

AOS Approved: 7/23/19

GREEN CARD IN HAND: 7/26/19

I would check no for ssn because we have seen some people who ended up with 2 different numbers. the worst case scenario is a trip to ssa after receiving EAD.

USCIS wont be sending a replacement card for SS. even if checked the SS will be provided through social security office.

Check no, you already applied for your SSN...no sense in confusing things. B-)

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Well i checked yes and my SSN was still pending and i didn't get duplicate. no confusion there. so it all depends on who's working on your case. no wrong way to answer that.
