N400 Interview passed but "decision cannot be made"

hi fellows, I took the interview in the Newark FO(NJ) this Tuesday and passed the examination. The VO was nice and we talked well. He gave N-652 which says I "passed the test" but the "decision cannot be made". He said that he is waiting for something from National Benefit Center (NBC) and that he needed to review those materials. I asked if I can help provide such info. He said no. He also said that if I did not have result in 120 days I can check back with USCIS (but he did not say how). Finally he must have sensed I was nervous and he said that it would not be that long (120 days).

Today I checked the online status. My interview was still not added, and the status is still "We scheduled your interview".

Anyone else had the same experience?

Is there any way to follow the status of this NBC (National Benefit Center)?

Shall I be worried? Did anyone be denied N400 before? thanks

This is common. The "decision cannot be made" happens more than you think.

No issue here.

I’m in the same boat with a wait of 7 months after my interview. That doesn’t mean it would happen to you as most cases like yours get scheduled for an oath within few weeks. Just keep it in the back of your mind that it might take longer!

hope so. thanks man

no. I already got my i751 approved two years ago

I am sure, what is needed from NBC, sometimes if I-751 is pending and I-751 file did not send from NBC with N-400, it takes time.   Wait for few days, you might see your approval.  Let us know when you will  get your approval.   My approval came 4 days after interview.  Best of luck and relax, you are almost done.

I am in the same situation

I had my N400 interview yesterday, just like you, the office gave me the form and he marked that I passed the test and that the decision can not be made.

The only difference is that, yesterday when I got home after the interview they updated my status and it says:

We transferred your application to anther USCIS servise center for review :( iIhave no idea what that means

congratulations! My personal hunch is that the longer the wait to interview, the shorter the wait to oath ceremony. In some ways, they try to make it up for the long interview wait times. For example, Dallas interview wait times are long but typically oath scheduling is pretty fast. Just observations though and not exactly scientific.

In any case I hope you get your oath ceremony scheduled soon!
