Hi, we've reached the next stage in the process. I received an email earlier today from the NVC stating they are transferring our petition to my fiance's embassy in Manila and it will take several weeks and that her emassy will contact her when they are ready to process the petition. The email also stated that my my fiance go to the website to learn how to apply for the visa and prepare for the interview. As for the DS-160 that she has to fill out, can she do that now and pay the $265? Or does she need to wait for her embassy to contact her? I'm sure she can get other things in the meantime like police certificate, 2 passport photos, and the medical exam. But I am just wondering about the DS-160 form right now. Thanks.

Embassy won't contact her.  Go to embassy website and follow the 5 steps.  The petition will be in ready status probably by Monday after which you can schedule the interview.  You can do EVERYTHING else right now

By Monday? That fast? I thought it takes about a month.

When did you get your noa2?

It goes DHL.  If they got the "we are sending" email, it takes but a  few days.  Current ceac status should read "in transit."

YMMV

Got it. I was thinking from NOA2.

How many CEAC statuses are there? I know you have to wait for ready before scheduling the interview.

Embassy won't contact her? Why does it say it will? So she can get everything done now including the DS-160? Just wait for the ready to schedule interview?

It's a general statement in the email,   Manila does 400 to 500 k1s a month.  They have put everything online to streamline.   Time to stop questioning and start believing,  go to the website and get going

YMMV

Is this the website you meant? I went to Manila embassy site and after a few clicks, it took me here.

The 5 steps are here

Lastly, does she schedule the interview by calling the embassy? What's the best way to schedule it?

Schedule online is the most convenient
