We were expedited so we set our own interview date.  I do not know how long it takes if NVC schedules it for you.  Our interview was June 25 and we were case closed on June 10.  It was about 2 weeks for us.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

If you interview  appt is scheduled too far out you can reschedule once your case file is at the embassy .. check CEAC status to show READY

Info on rescheduling here:  https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/us-embassy-usem.html

ok... actually this is our situation... we ve submitted already all the required docs and fees to the NVC a month ago , unfortunately upon checking our CEAC account, NVC has not accepted those yet. we called them and they said they re backlogged. but the personnel told us also that he will pass our case to the supervisor and will mark it as a priority, because our case is already past due.. so now, we are a bit confuse and unsure with the timeline we need to follow.

there isn't a timeline to follow .. NVC is backlogged .. things take as long as they take.   Until you get notice of Case Complete you just have to be patient.

My note about rescheduling your interview (once you receive a date) was because NVC interview dates tend to be out a month or two .. and you might want to move things up, if there is an earlier opening.

  • 2 months later...

last October 4th, NVC emailed us "Case Complete" . i asked people here how long it will take to get an interview after CC, mostly said 2weeks. it has been 3weeks now and no update yet. we called NVC and embassy many times. no clear answers from them. NVC says computer pick and sets dates for interview. we called manila embassy they said they havent received yet the case from NVC and it is the NVC who sets schedule . we called NVC again they said its the embassy who sets. so we called manila embassy, and they said just wait because our case is different.  how come it is different? IR1, married for more than 4yrs, lived together abroad for 2yrs, we have child that is already an american citizen,  we also have co sponsor our Dad. Are those, makes our case different? i saw same date of CC and they already got their interview schedule. and done with their interviews too.. we dont get it..  anyone here same situation?

Once it reaches the embassy and ceac says "READY" go ahead and have the beneficiary call the embassy and see if they can schedule something sooner, but it should come soon

Being an IR-1 visa has no bearing on interview scheduling ... you will hear something when you do ... just have to be patient.   As far as I have heard NVC is still very busy.

And as I noted earlier, if once your case file is at the embassy (CEAC status shows ready) you can reschedule to an earlier appt if one is available .. I gave you a link earlier
