Montreal Consulate asking for Documents

So I know my case (K-1 visa) is already at the Montreal consulate since I got a letter from them but asking for proof of my Canadian Citizenship.

First I'm just wondering what kind of proof can I send? (Passport? Canadian Citizenship card? which I'm not even sure if it's allowed since they discontinued the little cards a while back)

Second am I supposed to email it to them? or snail mail? or fax? I've emailed them asking all this but I don't think I'm gonna get a fast enough answer to calm my nerves PLUS I'm not sure if I even sent it to the right email? (montreal-iv-dv@state.gov) Please correct me if I got it wrong.

Lastly, I'm just wondering if this delays things until I provide them with the proof or will I still be receiving whatever I need to receive in the mail.

Please Help ! >.<

1) Long form birth certificate showing that you we're born in Canada.

2) Canadian passport, show your bio page (scan it, not a picture of it) should be sufficient for proving citizenship.

One of these two should be good enough to prove citizenship. Send it by email, the email you posted is the correct email to send it to. Just give them all the information in one email don't seperate it into mini-emails so it's less confusing for the worker. They don't want to run around looking for every tid bit you have about yourself.

You may receive something in the mail, but I would not count on it. All documents can be submitted by email, I know I did. Passport , long birth certificate, citizenship certificate would prove citizenship.

I'm Canadian but born in Philippines. I had original and copies of my live birth certificate from Philippines and Canadian passport which they accepted. Interview done and flying next week! 😁
