Hello everyone,

It's been 2years since we filed our 130 and during this we also celebrated our second marriage anniversary too, now my question is how we can change our visa class from CR1 to IR1 as our case is still in processing.

Do we need to contact embassy or USCIS ?

No need

The green card will automatically have a 10-yr expiration date

Two years and you’re still waiting for the I-130 to be approved? We were at the NVC when we reached our two-year anniversary of marriage. We got a letter from the NVC advising us that case had been “amended” to an IR-1. No idea why they sent that. It makes no difference to the processing.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Well yeah it doesnt make difference to processsing but it does make a lot of difference to you

With IR-1 no need to file RoC , thats ~USD 600 in savings. Just straight up N400 after 3 years.
