I am filing an AOS for my stepson who arrived after I filed the AOS for his mother and sister. I'm confused as to what information to include on the I864 for him. Do I fill out the affidavit as if he is the only one I'm sponsoring now or do I need to include information about his mom and sister again. (I filed an AOS for them 3 months ago)

  • For example in Part 2 do i list him as the principal immigrant?
  • Part 3 - Which box do I check 1,2,or 3?
  • Part 3-  What should I put for the total number of immigrants sponsoring? will it be 1 (him only) or three (mom and sister also)
  • Part 5-  Same as part 3 I don't know who to count

Q1. Yes

Q2. Most don't have the forms memorized so to help it's best to list the questions as stated in the form. Screen shot is fine also and very helpful. Check the instructions for the answer will surely be there.

Q3. You add up all your immigrants you are sponsoring.

Q4. Same as Q3.
