I know this is a long shot because most people who already took their oath may not be active anymore but I am hoping. I have my oath ceremony at the USS Constitution next week and it says we can only bring one guest. Someone just called the house and spoke to MH to remind us about the appointment. He asked if we could bring our children and they again said "only one guest". I am sad that my girls are not welcome to watch the ceremony. This is a big deal for me and I want them there. I am just wondering how strict they really are....is the "one guest" just the official line or you think they will really stop my girls coming in to watch?

Maybe try the Boston subreddit?

The only person I know who naturalized did it in Faneuil Hall, so I'm not sure about the USS Constitution. Pretty cool place, though!

Some places with lots of history pick a special spot for July 4th ceremonies. It's onboard a ship so space would be limited. If having your kids there is important, then ask  when the ceremony will be held in a large auditorium and ask for that date.

It's limited space. I would not push it or you may end up not even having your husband there for you.

Thank everyone. The actual ceremony is not on the actual ship, its inside the museum and then I believe we get to walk out on to the ship. We talked it over and plan to bring my mother in law with us. If they are a firm no my mother in law will take the girls and find something to do while we are at the ceremony.

How did it work out? For others that have this question later your experience would be helpful.

They let us all in! The ceremony was on the ship as part of Boston's 4th celebrations. In my experience it was the US Navy running the show and not immigration. I ended up having 4 guests with me with no issues at all! :)
