Hello VJers, everything went well I believe, and I think the fact that my Fiancée is here and I went in with her Passport helped. I was issued a white paper - 221G I suppose? - to send my son's birth certificate. However, the consular officer returned my passport and he didn't say to send it back with the document requested, please what does this mean??

What was said on the 221g concerning the passport if anything?

Nothing was said about passport. The consular officer just ticked 'submit original and a photocopy of birth certificate' and then wrote 'son' in front of it. That's all

It's neither good nor bad IMO. Send what they requested then await further instructions. They likely will review the case for a while, then request the passport if they intend to issue the visa (they can request it with a refusal too...so don't read too much into that either).

UPDATE!!!

I just checked our case on the ceac tracker and it changed to 'Administrative Processing'....is this a good or bad sign??

Normal. Administrative Processing covers all activity after the interview. In your case, it is awaiting documentation and then review. It may switch between a few different statuses a few more times (READY, APPLICATION RECEIVED, etc.).

Okay thank you. But I can't possibly be denied now after sending in the requested birth certificate, right?? I mean, it's just a birth certificate, right? Everything else looked good to me during the interview; divorce papers were the only documents he asked for and he kept them in our file; not chat or call logs, not photos etc.

You certainly can be denied if the CO determines a reason for being ineligible for the visa. People have been refused even after being told they were approved at the interview and submitted their passport. It's not common, but new information or a second review of the case can result in being ineligible.

That said, if the only issue is the birth certificate then I don't see a reason for refusal once that is provided.

But I'm not the CO and don't know the details of the case.

The only issue is the birth certificate, nothing else. Well, I hope and pray for the best. I will post an update as and when I get one. Again, thank you very much for your responses.

The person who owns the gold makes the rules. Your CO is the owner of the gold. Sit tight. Nothing more you can do.

That's the same white slip I got, but mine was for joint sponsor and Medical bills but the admin processing wasn't ticked on mine... The consular officer told me after I send this docs, they'll review and ask for my passport but my case still says ready since June 7 I had my interview.... My friend got the same letter as well and he submitted what they asked for the same day, 3days after he was called to submit his passport for visa issuance... I believe you r good, just send what they want
