My husband had his immigration interview on April 17 2019, which went pretty good. Since I am in Pakistan, in the end of the interview the immigration officer asked me (petitioner) for my proof of domicile and latest tax transcript. I had proof of my domicile by providing my recent tax papers, voting registration card, US driving license, and active bank statements. She asked me to submit the documents on CEAC. I submitted the required documents. But I haven't heard back from them since a month. I have heard that one must travel before the expiry of the medical examinations (which is valid for only 6 months).

Its been two months since my husbands interview, and we don't have his passport back.

Its been more than a month that I submitted all required documents, yet still didn't hear back.

Very highly likely, the status of your husband’s case will now say “Administrative Processing” and there is no set time limit for this state. So this means (yet another) wait.. It could be another few weeks or even months, nobody knows.

If the medical expires in between that time, he will have to redo the medical (at least as far as I know, fellow VJ members please correct me if I’m wrong)

@Daphne K - Is there a way to check the status of my case? Yes, you are right, it is under administrative process. I keep a check on my case via CEAC. Is there any other way?

No, there is no other way. Just keep checking the case status in CEAC.

I hope it will be resolved quickly!

@Khan90 - What did they say? Why is it taking this long? There must be some explanation?

they dont say nothing, thats the issue, if we email its just a automatic response of AP, and no there are no red flags, its just frustrating.

I don’t know if anyone can answer this but I am trying to find out if I can accompany my husband for his CR-1 interview in Islamabad. I’m the beneficiary and I live in NY. (Also, a US Citizen) tried calling the embassy but they said to email them. I’m hearing and reading mixed answers. Can I go in with him? I just want to book my ticket once I have an answer. Please help.

@Ishah786 - I accompanied my husband for his interview and I regret that I did. But in our case, we both are in Islamabad together so we just went. The interview is only for him. If you're thinking to come to Pakistan just to be there for his interview.... I would highly advice not too. Rest its up to you. It clearly says on the interview letter that only the Applicant is suppose to go. Just make sure he takes loads and loads of evidences of your marriage, pictures of you both together, group pictures, honeymoon reservations, any proof of you both "living" together... that kinda stuff.

I pray this process goes smooth for the both of you Inshallah :) Best of luck.

I attended two interviews with my husband and highly recommend it.  It may not sway any decision that the embassy has already made but it will ease any confusion, boost his confidence and give you a much better understanding of the process.
