Health system, insurance, i dont understand.

I am writing on behalf my mother.

And i dont even know if this is the right forum, you help me  with that.

 

 

One thing i have been told is that the health system in United States is extremely complex

 

She is 69yo and VERY healthy thanks God and to hear life style and eating habits.

She came to the United States 3 years ago, she is working full time and has a 12/hour job.

 

SHe doesnt knwo which insurance coverage she has, she doesnt know in what situation she is.

She had a "insurance" and "everything ok" then, her salary was raised from and then she told me insurance company asking her to pay about us$20 extra,  two months ago her salary went up again and then she received a letter from Suffolk County Western Medicaid Unit, where it says she is 129.8 over the allowable Medicaid income limit of $859 and that she has to pay 129.83 to them, which is exactly her salary raise difference.

 

Can somebody please explain this to me and help me to find the best solution for my mother?

Simply, she makes too much money to receive Medicaid......therefore, they are "helping" her reduce her income to the accepted limit......

Sounds like part of the cost was being paid by the Government and as she earns more she needs less subsidy.

Oh, so if in a near future she earns, lets say us$3000 monthly, then she will have to pay us$2,141?

Either that or look for another health insurance carrier.  Medicaid is an income-based benefit.  No everyone qualifies.

YEah, that's what i suspected, i need recommendations on that, which is good, reasonable priced, and decent or good coverage for the price?.
