It is Security Advisory opinion including background check, name check and criminal check etc

I was born in China and I think probably that will get me have extra check

Ah this explains why yours is taking a little longer than some. You where born in another country. SO the length of time it takes them to get any information they need from China is what will dictate how long it takes to get your visas. As soo as they get everything they need that is when you will be done. Sorry there is not really a timeline to give you.

My birth country is Philippines. Do you have any idea if I will also be put on AP? Lol! All police clearances are clear from all the countries I’ve been. 🙏🏽

I think so. I even believe all cases will go through AP. The only difference is the time varies base on each cases.

My son and I had our CR1/2 interview at Montreal May 17th. The interview seems fine and the consulate told me the visa are approved. It is about to take 2 weeks and they will mail me the passport the visa is ready.

She did handover me a paper saying how to track and pick up the passport  (once the passport delivered by them). And a welcome letter also.

but till today both are cases are under Administrative processing. My case last updated was 21th May and my son’s is still the same day as the interview day 17th May.

very stressful. We Have been apart from family one year and half now. It’s just too tough for me and husband and kids.

we are not sure what does the Ap really mean. Or how long it will take.

Is there anyone had interview the same day in Montreal as us? Could u pls share your status? Would Anyone has the same experience share your experience too?

Much appreciate!

Hi there,

have you received your passport back? My husband and I are in a similar situation as you.

We had our interview this past Monday, June 3. Just a quick question—it’s been 5 days today and our status still shows “administrative processing” on the CEAC website even though we were told we’re approved and handed a welcome to America sheet.

just want to know when you got your passport back so we can reassure ourselves that the embassy is just taking some time to print/administer the immigrant visa. My husband and I are already living in the states and had come to MTL for the interview hence we’re anxious to get back to work ASAP.

really appreciate your input! :)
